With our eyes on 2026, Missouri Moms Demand Action volunteers launched our chapter’s elections work late last month. We shared a preview of our chapter’s work leading into next year, and we gave a short overview of our plan to do more to elect candidates who are committed to prioritizing smart gun legislation–up and down the ballot. We’re getting started early because we know the best way to make our communities safer is by electing lawmakers who’ll enact policies that make our communities safer! If you missed our kick-off meeting, you can find the slides and our notes here.    Please join us at our October Election Team meeting when volunteers from across the state will help refine our election strategy and set priorities. We’ll review the Gun Sense Candidate Distinction process and how we work with candidates. We’ll also look at ways volunteers drive elections work across the state–and how you can get volunteer, wherever you live. These monthly meetings are open to any volunteers interested in getting more involved or in helping to set election priorities in our chapter.    Monday, October 20, 7PM Statewide Elections Team Meeting Via Zoom
Register now for the Zoom; once you register you’ll receive an email from Zoom that will include a link to join via video on your computer or phone via the Zoom app (or dial-in information so you can join via phone and listen to audio only).    On our September call, we shared the many ways volunteers can contribute to election work. If you haven’t already done so, let us know how you’d like to help!
As we finish out 2025 and look ahead at 2026, the Missouri chapter is working to build teams in other areas, in addition to Elections. These teams will continue to build our power throughout Missouri to end gun violence, bring awareness, and make our communities safer. Being part of one (or more) of these teams, means that you’d participate and help throughout the year–given however much time and capacity you have. There’s no commitment to X number of hours per month–and if at any time you need to step back or take a break, we understand and adjust as needed! From social media to the State Legislative team to the Secure Storage team, we have many ways to get involved. Read descriptions and sign up on our Missouri 2025/2026 Interest Form.
Questions, want to know how to get more involved here in Missouri or in the movement in general? Write back, we’d love to be in touch!    We look forward to seeing you at an upcoming chapter event.    Julie & Kristin MO State Elections Leads Missouri Moms Demand Action
