Students recently visited the Porter Family Homestead in Vanduser, Missouri, for an unforgettable educational field trip. The small rural town, known for its rich agricultural traditions, provided the perfect setting for hands-on learning and real-world exploration.

The trip was part of an integrated Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (S.T.E.M.) and 4-H program, designed to connect classroom lessons with practical experience. Students explored gardening, orchards, animal care, ecosystems, climate change, and sustainability.

The students were captivated by goats, sheep, turkeys, and fruit orchards. A homemade fishing pond proved especially popular, providing opportunities to observe, interact, and ask questions about natural ecosystems.

Activities throughout the day encouraged students to apply critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership. They learned about entrepreneurship in agriculture, sustainable farming practices, and the importance of environmental stewardship
