In honor of Veterans Day, students in the Learning in Tutoring & Essential Life Skills After-School Program experienced a day filled with gratitude, learning, and community collaboration. This year’s celebration included a very special visit from Colonel Dianne Jackson, who graciously took time to share her military experience and inspire the next generation.

Students excitedly gathered to ask Colonel Jackson thoughtful questions about her service, such as:

• Have you ever been to war?
• Are you scared of being hurt?
• Where did you serve?
• How many places have you traveled to and where?

Colonel Jackson answered each question with patience and clarity, helping students understand the courage and commitment required in military life. She also taught them about:

• The different branches of the U.S. military
• How service members protect and defend our nation
• The important difference between Veterans Day and Memorial Day

Her visit created a memorable learning experience, deepening students’ respect for those who serve our country.

On behalf of Lincoln University Cooperative Outreach Center, we also offers a heartfelt thank you to Pastor Louise White and Bishop Larry White for their continuous partnership and devoted support of our students. Their commitment to uplifting families and strengthening community values plays an essential role in events like this, where students learn the importance of honor, patriotism, and service.

As we commemorate Veterans Day, we proudly recognize and salute all veterans for their bravery, sacrifice, and leadership. We extend our sincere appreciation to our honored guests and community partners for helping make this day truly special.

Together, we continue to celebrate, educate, and honor the heroes who protect our freedom.
