CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. –

Debbie Carter, the new CEO for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeast Missouri

Big changes are ahead for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeast Missouri. Debbie Carter, Cape native and longtime youth advocate, has been named the new CEO.
Carter, a graduate of Cape Central High School and Southeast Missouri State University, has served on the Club’s board and worked in the TRIO program at SEMO, helping first-generation students succeed.
Alongside this leadership change, the Club is opening a Regional Teen Center at 1910 Independence Street. Dubbed “The Club”, it will serve grades 5–12 with after-school and summer programs focused on academics, leadership, and recreation. The project is a true community effort, made possible by Montgomery Bank, Bank of Missouri, MRV Bank, and First State Community Bank. This is about showing up for our youth,” Carter said. “They deserve a safe place to dream, grow, and succeed.” The Club opens soon—bringing new opportunities and a bigger future for Southeast Missouri teens.
