MOUNDS, Ill. — The Alexander–Pulaski Counties Branch of the NAACP will host its 2026 Sneaker Ball on Saturday, March 14, 2026, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Meridian High School Gymnasium, 3401 Mounds Road in Mounds, Illinois.
The unique event blends elegance with a modern twist, inviting guests to wear their finest formal attire paired with their favorite sneakers for an evening of dinner, music, inspiration, and community celebration.
Celebrating Women’s History Month
This year’s theme, “Stepping Into Her Power,” honors Women’s History Month by recognizing the strength, leadership, and lasting contributions of women in the community and across generations. Organizers say the event aims to uplift women in the community and highlight the role women continue to play in advancing equity, opportunity, and civic leadership.
The Sneaker Ball is part of the branch’s ongoing effort to create events that bring communities together while promoting education, civic engagement, and social justice—core values long championed by the NAACP.
Featured Speaker
The evening will feature remarks from Dr. Tessa J. Davis, Director of Care Management for Southern Crescent Technical College. Dr. Davis is known for her dedication to improving outcomes in underserved communities and for her leadership in education and community development. Her message is expected to focus on empowerment, advocacy, and the importance of women’s voices in shaping the future.

Entertainment for the evening will be provided by The J Sound, bringing music and energy to the celebration.
Tickets are $25 per person in advance and $30 at the door.
